The G4SR480V5A02CAA from the Gamma series is a high-performance single- and three-phase energy meter designed for industrial applications requiring accurate energy monitoring and advanced power quality analysis. With a compact housing width of only 45 mm, it can be easily integrated into electrical panels, energy management systems, and industrial automation installations.
The device measures all key electrical parameters, including phase-to-neutral and phase-to-phase voltages, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, frequency, and energy consumption. Active and reactive energy values are available both per phase and for the complete installation. Bidirectional energy measurement makes the unit suitable for renewable energy systems, battery storage applications, and energy recovery installations.
A key feature of the G4SR480V5A02CAA is its integrated power quality monitoring capability. The meter measures Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) for both voltage and current and provides harmonic analysis up to the 20th harmonic order. This enables early detection of network disturbances caused by variable frequency drives, switched-mode power supplies, EV chargers, and other non-linear loads.
The unit operates with external 5 A current transformers and supports primary currents up to 2500 A. Combined with True RMS measurement technology and high accuracy, it delivers reliable measurement data even in electrically noisy environments.
Communication is provided through a galvanically isolated Modbus RTU interface over RS485. Device parameters, communication settings, and measurement functions can be configured locally or remotely via Modbus. Firmware updates can also be performed through the communication interface, simplifying maintenance and future upgrades.
In addition to its comprehensive metering capabilities, the G4SR480V5A02CAA includes one digital input and two configurable digital outputs. These can be monitored and controlled through Modbus, enabling alarm handling, switching functions, and remote monitoring within industrial control systems.
